incredible, and the spa services were a delightful surprise. I did notice that the breakfast area got quite crowded, especially during peak hours, which made finding a table challenging at times.

The views from the pool area were stunning! ! The staff were attentive and genuinely friendly, making us feel very welcome. The classic family room was spacious and comfortable for all of us.

The breakfast offerings, while varied, could be better.

Proximity to central attractions is spot on. a quick stroll gets you to bars and restaurants. The view from the pool area is downright stunning. The extensive breakfast buffet offers a solid range of options, so you won't walk away hungry.

The furnishings in the rooms need some serious attention—worn and shabby doesn’t cut it for a supposed 5-star experience. Noise from nearby clubs can be disruptive, especially during late hours, and I found the gym severely lacking, with only a couple of weights and limited equipment available. Don’t count on a peaceful morning, either. construction nearby starts way too early for my liking, and the coffee during breakfast runs on the weaker side. Also, some days the variety in breakfast options is a hit or miss.

The pools are stunning, and the spa offers a relaxing escape. I loved having direct access to the ocean. The views from the balcony were incredible. The snack bar by the pool serves amazing burgers!

Beautiful views and friendly atmosphere

I had an amazing time enjoying the stunning ocean views from my room and the relaxing pools. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and always willing to assist whenever needed. However, I did find that some of the fitness facilities might be in need of an upgrade.

Impressive stay! Our junior suite was a blooming paradise with vibrant flowers and views that left us in awe. The warm sea access surpassed even the pools! Unrivaled breakfast options caught our taste buds, and wouldn’t forget the attentive team helpful with every request. Can't wait for another visit to this charming haven!

I truly appreciated the breathtaking ocean views from the spacious balcony of my Classic Twin Room Bay or Sea View. The hotel’s layout made it easy for me to navigate the beautiful grounds without any hassle.

i had a lovely stay at pestana carlton madeira ocean resort. the pools are fantastic, both indoor and outdoor, and the location is just perfect. the standout for me was the magic serenity massage in the spa—it was incredible! the staff were always friendly and helpful.

the coffee at breakfast could definitely be better.

The kids loved the multiple pools, especially the sea view pool. We enjoyed exploring Funchal and even caught the Flower Festival, which was vibrant and an unforgettable sight! The staff was friendly and made our family stay enjoyable and hassle-free.

In my wife’s opinion, a kids’ club would be great.

I was blown away by the breathtaking views of the ocean from my room and the charming garden surroundings. The varied pool options, including both freshwater and seawater pools, made for an amazing lounging experience all day long. The breakfast buffet was an absolute delight with a freshly made omelette station and so much variety to choose from!

I loved that my room had almost floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views, and it was a short walk to both Santa Catarina Park and the vibrant Marina do Funchal, which made for fantastic leisurely strolls around the city. this hotel is perfect for anyone who enjoys city walking and exploring local landmarks.
